A friend of mine wanted to embroider skeleton leaves on organza
for her daughter's wedding. "Can you do it?" she asked. I wasn't
sure but I definitely wanted to try. Without going into the nitty
gritty of the actual digitizing, I can tell you that this was worth
every painstaking minute that I put into it. These leaves are so
delicate; you can even embroider them on chiffon.
What to do and what not to do with these leaf designs:
- Use any color you like. (For obvious reasons, no color charts
- Please do not resize. Rather choose a suitably sized design
for your application.
- These leaves are not freestanding. But you can make them
appear freestanding. (See my lavender and leaves
bowl.) To get that effect, embroider on organza using a water
soluble stabilizer, cut close to the edge and sear, soak in water
and then dry in the shape that you want.
